Facing Your Fears during uncertain changes

The only thing that the majority of us want to hear is "everything will be okay." Although we live in a world of constant change we have yet to be adapt to it. The world had been going about it's business as usual: working hard, playing hard, and social media. We were busy doing us.

Then the coronavirus outbreak. With the outbreak came coronavirus fear. Lots of it. This fear has paralyzed many and some have became hopeless.

I'll admit that it has been a haze of days as the media continues to air the latest on the coronavirus, but I want you to keep in mind that God is still in control. We are facing a time where what we "say" we believe is being put to the test. It's time to walk it like we talk it. This by no means is saying not to be cautious but I don't want the coronavirus fears overblown. Therefore I am going to give you 3 tips on facing your fears during uncertain changes. These can be used , not just during this time of virus outbreak, but anytime you are faced with uncertain changes.

1. Confess Isaiah 41: 10, " Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." When faced with uncertain changes you must know that you are not facing it alone. God is with you. Although there may be uncertainty with you, God knows it all. He knows your beginning and your ending and because He is with you, it will end well. You must believe that!

2. Call out. If you are anxious and fearful go to God in prayer and tell Him what your concerns are. Everything that concerns you, concerns Him. You have to be honest about how you feel and why. Philippians 4: 6 says, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." If you tell God about your fears He can give you a spirit of calmness. Yes He already knows everything but in Him asking you to tell Him, He's trying to teach you how to surrender, how to be open and honest with Him. All of this creates intimacy. In telling God about your fears, He may direct you to a human source so that you can have some tangible assistance. God works through people so don't ever think seeking human help is a lack of faith. You just have to hear (from God) and be clear (on who He leads you to).

3. Have courage. Knowing that you serve a God who is bigger than anything that you will ever face should give you courage. Having courage does not mean that you are invincible and that you should get in harm's way, it just means that when harm comes your way you face it head on and you have confidence that you will win. Psalm 31:24 says, "Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord." As you stand courageously against your fears, God is going to strengthen you.

Life will bring challenges and changes. During those times you should find a scripture to Confess, Call out to God and tell Him what your concerns are, and have Courage. He will never leave you. He will never forsake you. Let's Pray:

Merciful God,

We thank you for your promise of forever being with us. God we come boldly to your throne on today to break the stronghold of fear. God we render that spirit powerless over us, in the name of Jesus. We thank you that we are men and women of mighty faith and our faith triumphs our fears. Lord we admit that with changes comes uncertainty and with uncertainty comes questions and concerns. We thank you for giving us peace when we don't have the answers that we seek. We thank you for the reminder in your word that says that we can be of good courage and you will strengthen our hearts. God we ask that you will bring a calm to your people all over the world. Help us not to panic Lord because you are our strength and our Redeemer, a very present help in times of trouble. We trust you with this coronavirus situation. God as you continue to take care of us, we will turn our hearts towards heaven and take care of each other. We love you Lord. We bless your Holy name. In Jesus mighty name we pray. Amen.
