You Can Have It

Updated: Feb 6, 2021

I remember hearing those words during prayer one day. "You can have it!" I was confused because I had been praying for the same thing for about 2 years and had not received it yet but I heard the words, "You can have it!" I wanted to ask, "Well why don't I?" I needed understanding. I pondered on those words for a couple of days and then God spoke to me and said, "Read James 4: 2 3." I did and the understanding came.

In the latter part of James 4: 2 it says, "You do not have because you do not ask God." That didn't apply to me because I had been asking for 2 years I had heard all of the cliche' stuff like God will answer prayers, the power of prayer, How to pray to God correctly, and keys to answered prayer but getting it to work seemed like a mystery. I continued reading James 4:3 and it says, "When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with the wrong motives, that you may spend at you get on your pleasures."

Although I was not asking for money, what I was asking for was fo r my own pleasure. It was not for God's glory and that will prevent prayer from being answered. You can have whatever you desire if you bring your will into alignment with God's and the things you desire will either advance the kingdom and give God glory.

Aligning with God's will in prayer is done by praying the word of God that is relevant to each of our situations and by always saying "not my will Lord but thine will be done" when we are not praying the scriptures. When the will of God becomes the desire of man then we can have it. Have what? We can have the peace that we have been asking for.

We can have the world order and rest oration that we so desperately need. We can have cures for diseases and terminal illnesses. We c an have joy and won't have to experience so much depression and troublesome times. We can have financial gain and increase. We can have unified marriages. We can have literally anything that our hearts desire because when we lay our will on the altar and embrace the will of God, the desires of our hearts become kingdom desires.

Say this prayer :

Heavenly Father,

I ask that your will be done in my life. Not my will but thine will be done. God as I study your word I ask that you will open up my understanding so that when I pray I am in alignment with your will for my life. May you fill my heart with desires that are kingdom desires so that everything that I pray, manifests and I am walking in and living out the desires of my heart. In Jesus' name. Amen

Blessings and Breakthroughs,
