I am hosting a 9 Fruit of the Spirit Online Bible Study that started this past Saturday. God gave me this vision in alignment with my purpose of an evangelist and a life coach. I deal with personal development and teaching others how to align their spirituality with their success goals. So I partnered with 8 other men and women of God to teach on a different fruit. This past Saturday, my brother, and Gospel Rap Music Minister, Robert Spencer, taught a powerful lesson on the fruit of Love.
We were walked through the bible and given several scriptures pertaining to love and then he tied his lesson up with 1 Corinthians 13. To sum up what we learned:
If we want to sum up the law it is love. There is no failure in love. Love covers a multitude of sin. It does not matter how many spiritual gifts we have, how much worldly possessions we have, how great we think we are, if we are not walking in love then we are not profiting anything. When our focus is on loving God and loving people then we don't have time to think about the negatives in life or the offenses that we may experience. Oftentimes we say that we love people but we have our own definition of love. We don't always love according to God's definition of love. Love allows us to credit people with good intentions. If someone pass by you without speaking, rather than saying "he or she saw me and could have spoke" why not think that maybe they did not see you or maybe they had something heavy on their mind. We never know what people are going through. Love doesn't see or think the worst about others. People won't know that we love God just because we have a Jesus bumper sticker on our car. People will only know that we love God by the love that we have for our brother.
Let's challenge ourselves to embrace God's definition of love and begin to walk therein.
Heavenly Father, thank you for teaching us how to love the God kind of way. Forgive us for all of the times that we have not walked in love. We commit today to do better. We understand that you are love and because we are created in your image we too, therefore, are also love. Thank you for loving us so much that you sent your Son Jesus Christ to die for us and to be the propitiation for our sins. We love you. In Jesus name. Amen
Blessings and Breakthroughs to you!
